It won't start...

OK, I have a Dimension 2400, a couple of years old granted, but it won't trun on all of a sudden. I turned it off over the night and what happened was when i turned it on this morning, the screen showed nothing, the LED on the monitor was organge, the color when teh computer itself was off, and a couple of beeps, 9 in all, and the power button, the little cirle with the line, does not show it is turned on. Thankfully, I have two computers, but tha oe has a ton of stuff needed on it and it can't easily be recovered...

HELP!

as in the LED power on the front of the console, and the beeping only occurs when teh ethernet cable is connected.

The lights on the back go GGYY, but i don't think it is a card issue

You mean the "Flea Power" LED on the motherboard?

Does the power supply fan work?

What is the reading of the power button LED, green, blinking green, solid amber, blinking amber?

What is the sequence of the diagnostic Lights on the back panel?

If the power button LED is not lite, try plugging the power cord dircectly into a different outlet, still does not light, then try a different power supply.

Bev.
