You didn't say what browers you're using, but in IE6:
Tools>Internet Options
Click Security tab
Click Custom Level button
Scroll down near the bottom of the list, looking for "Scripting of Java Applets"
Change the setting to "Enable"
Click OK back to main brower screen
Exit and restart IE6
