Java Virtual Machine Launcher Erro
Hi All,
I'm not sure if this is the correct board or not but I am getting the following error when I log into my computer, I have a Dimension 4600. The error box has "Java Virtual Machine Launcher" and then inside the box it states: Could not find the main class. Program will exit. My 90 day Macfrey expired a couple of weeks ago and we purchased Norton System Works and once that was installed and ran this is when the problem started. There are times when I'm on the internet and I'll try to view clips etc and it won't run, not sure if this is all related as it states something about Javascript in the status bar? I'm not sure if something was deleted or blocked when running the Norton System Works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if the procedure contained in the post from davidpbrown here allows you to correct the problem.

I did reinstall Java and it showed installation successful but I am still getting the error box and then when I try to click on certain links to show video clips etc they are not coming up and in the status line it states Javascript. Any other suggestions??

You didn't read down to the post by davidpbrown which contained the following from another user with the same problem:
I did a selective startup from run "msconfig" and unchecked all items. When I rebooted the error message went away. I added startup items one by one and found a program in startup that had a java extension. When I added it the error returned. I took it out and it went away again. The program still works, but I have kept it out of my startup items.
