I'm not sure as my Dad made the call, but from what he told me she just suggested a straight reboot.

How would I run the Dell Diagnositcs?

by reboot I mean system restore.

Did the Dell Tech instruct you to run the Dell Diagnostics on the system?  A recurring F1 - F2 boot up scenario could be an indication of a failing piece of hardware especially one of your IDE drives.

Right, talked with my Dad, the diagnostics were run, and everything was fine, this is when they suggested the system restore.
