Keyboard/Mouse not responding
Hello, I've got a Dell Dimension E310 with XP. I no longer have the original keyboard and mouse, which did work, so I'm trying to use my own. The pc only has USB ports. I've tried different mice, different ports, but no matter what I do I can't get past the welcome screen since neither the keyboard or mouse will function. I didn't see any setting in the bios. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Open the case and remove the cmos battery for 15 Minutes (note the polarity of the battery before removal) Reinsert the battery after 15 Minutes, close the case and plug it in. Then do the following if you have keyboard function in the bios.
* Watch the keyboard lights. When they flash, tap the F2 key
* The message, Entering Setup should appear
* Press the [Caps Lock], [Scroll Lock] and the [Num Lock] keys to light up all three lights on the keyboard
* Press the [Alt] and keys at the same time
* The computer issues a beep
* Press the [Alt] and keys at the same time
* The computer issues a beep
* Down arrow to Onboard or Integrated Devices [press Enter]
* Set everything to On except for USB Emulation which should be set for NO BOOT
* Press the [Alt] and keys at the same time
* The BIOS saves settings and the computer restarts
