Left speaker has static

Well, it's as simple as this. I really don't think I could have blown it, considering the fact that I havn't really had them that loud, or been using them much this past week. To my amazement, the left speaker has a slight static, and is very annoying.

What I've tried to do:

disconnect, reconnect speakers

change outlets

change settings in my Audigy 2 console

all test results on speakers come back positive

I don't have a mic in my comp either.

Any ideas? Thanks.

What happens if you disconnect the speakers from the PC and just turn them on by themselves?  Do you get any "static"?  If you do, then it's isolated to the speakers.  If not, then it goes back to the PC.

If it's still an issue in the PC, if the speaker jack on the PC or the Plug for the speaker connection is "dirty" it could be the left channel is not making good electrical contact.  Unplug and plug the speaker connection back in several times, that may "clean" the contact.  Also make sure the plug is fully seated, if it's only partially seated you can get the static or intermittent sound from one side.  Also do the same thing to the other "internal" speaker connections, unplug and plug them back in several times in case one of them is not making good contact.

What You have To Do Is Go To Control Panel/Sounds and Audio/"Tab"Volume/Advanced Options/Master Volume. Once Your At The Master Volume Window Mute The Following :SW Synth,Line In, And PC Speaker. And There You Go No More Static. Email me At michaelRFX@msn.com And Let Me Know If This Worked.-Michael Reyes
