Legacy Drivers
Forum, you're my last hope.
My old Dimension 3000 hard drive failed after years of faithful service. I installed another 40gig (yes, that's all...limited use machine) but lost all my Dell drivers. Now my video is only 640x480. I fell for the Driver Detective myth...buh-by to that $30...which did nothing but want to update my PCI modem drivers.
Anyway, the original box came with XP, which I replaced with Vista which ran great. But now with the new drive, I installed Win7, which works fine, but the video driver does not!
Can anyone help? I would really appreciate it.

The Intel Graphics on that ancient machine do not support windows 7.
If you buy a newer dell like an optiplex GX620 or better it will work with win7 or 8 or 10 using vista drivers.
