Lines distorting screen...

Question

I've posted this in the 'monitor' section as well, but felt I may get better traffic here. Thanks. I have a problem with lines appearing on my monitor every now and then when I am using my PC. It appears to occur when I am surfing the Internet, but there does not seem to be any type of particular pattern or event that seems to trigger it. Basically, these lines start appearing on my screen like the picture is breaking up. Then a trail starts following my mouse pointer where ever I move it. I try to Refresh the screen, but nothing changes. I end up having to reboot my PC, then everything is back to normal. I have a 17' Trinitron that came with my Dimension xps D266. However I purchased a Dimension 4100, but am using the same monitor. I only started experiencing the problems when I began using my 4100. I am using the Rage 128 Pro driver for it. I thought maybe it was the monitor that was faulty, so I swapped it out with another identical monitor and the same thing happens. So to me it seems like a problem with the drivers or Windows or something. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am experiencing the same problem with my new Dell Dimension XPS T700r! i am using the Rage 128 Pro drivers as well, i even reinstalled the drivers but nothing seems to correct the problem except a simple reboot. If you get any information on this problem please let me know because i am getting iritated by this. i have posted this problem before but no one has been able to help me thus far.
