seems that the W2003S makes trouble with some of your systems.
maybe my configuration could help.
I run the Windows 2003 Standard Server System on my M60 without problems.
My systemdata:
Precision M60
Pentium M 1,6 Ghz
1,5 GB Ram
WUXGA
Nvidia Quadro FxGo700
Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth working without the MS dongle, direct connected with the Dell Bluetooth 300 Module (no additional cables !!)
and all the other hardware ... (I belive I dont have to mention all parts)
And here are my drivers
Bluetooth_300: R82522
Chipset: R58370
Gigabit: R61662
IRDA: R54748
Modem: R85243
Nvidia: R82002 (maybe this is an older one, but working fine)
Quadro_View: R63034
Smartcard: R62804
Sound: R88573
Speed_step: R76240 (maybe this driver isn t required..)
WLAN_ 1300: R83097
and for the MS BT-Mouse aditional the Intellipoint 5.0 Software (how to get the Mouse working is posted in one of my older posts)
so far hope this will help... if not then post your problems...

No !!! You need the Intellipoint 5.0 Software !!! (Not the one, 5.2 or 4.9 witch is included to the mouse)
Here is the link to my old post (it describes how to... on W2000 but it also works on W2003S well)

>>Out of curiosity, does the IRDA work without the Win 2000 driver?
I use it with a Mobile Phone (Siemens S65) no Idea witch driver the Simens-Software did additional install. But I only installed the R54748, I belive this is the w2000 driver... but who cares it works and thats what I need. (I am not interested wether Dell say this is a driver for W2000 or W2003)

So Andreas - you say that my MS IntelliMouse BlueTooth mouse + my TM300 + the IntelliPoint 5.2 software will make my mouse reassign it's buttons the way I want?
Out of curiosity, does the IRDA work without the Win 2000 driver?
Thx.

One other question - does SpeedStep work? Does the CPU clock down correctly when on battery or low CPU usgae?
Did you install the Notebook System Software & QuickSet?
Thanks.

As I am able to test it ( with the freeware I8KFanGUI http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html)
>> Yes
This Software shows me different clock-speeds (between 600 and 1600 MHz)
And the CPU-Fan doesn t run all the time (I belive this would be if the CPU only works on 100%)
>>Does the CPU clock down correctly when on battery or low CPU usgae?
I think so, I general work on "automatic speed" (If I am of the grid I also want to have 100% performance if I need it, but the CPU clocks down if there is nothing to do.
>>Did you install the Notebook System Software & QuickSet?
NO I installed all the driver for my own. Dell has an exccelent online-service where you can get all the latest drivers by sending the service key. (for me this is http://support.euro.dell.com/de/de/filelib/index.aspx?)

My USB2.0 also works without this driver (on 2.0 speed). And I do not have a Floppy or an UDMA-HDD (yet) so I dont need this driver...
>>>QuickSet is another Dell utility that configures AC adaptor warnings, enables the >>>volume buttons with a visual indicator & configures wired LAN enable/disable on >>>battery mode. (R88576.exe).
This are all options witch I can do on the operating system level (disable WLAN should no problem for anyone) And who realy needs a visual reaction on tipping the buttons? ( if I could not hear the music I tap the button as often as the music reached the level I want) I dont care about an bar with indicates me if I am on 44 or 45 % .... ;-)
>>>Did you install SRSP1 version 1005 or version 1009 (latest)?
I dont know what you mean on SRSP1 ?? If you ask for the W2003 Service Packs.
I regulary do a online update once or twice a month. So it should be the 1009. But I dont realy know. (checking this now and if there are new updates Ill get them)

Good point; I have all the latest drivers downloaded.
The Notebook System Software is a driver available from Dell that configures USB 2.0, Pentium-M CPUs, floppy drives & UDMA on optical drives (R82491.exe).
QuickSet is another Dell utility that configures AC adaptor warnings, enables the volume buttons with a visual indicator & configures wired LAN enable/disable on battery mode. (R88576.exe).
Did you install SRSP1 version 1005 or version 1009 (latest)?
Thx.
