macro flash problem? or more?
Hello, i have a dimension 8200 and just recently i restarted it and it began CHKDSK after scanning through a 3 step process it showed that 4 segments were dammaged. After that it said it repaired them and finished restarting, when i tried to access a website with flash it wouldnt load any flash objects.. when i tried to download flash again it stays on the same page and continues trying to load it until i stop it. So thus far it seems like im having a macromedia problem but im sure it was caused by something else if anyone can point me in the right direction i'd greatly appreciate it.
thanks
dan

If you're referring to four sectors that showed up as bad, it's time to back up -- immediately -- and replace the hard drive. It is beginning to fail.

thanks a lot for all your help so far, one more thing... could you point me in the direction of the dell diagnostics?
thank you

Run the Dell diagnostics on the drive - including a full surface scan.
If any bad sectors show up, it IS time for a new drive - or you will soon be buying one and trying to figure out how to recover the data from the failed drive.

You can either press F12 at boot and choose the diagnostics, or boot the CD that came with the system (it's labeled "drivers and utilities", most likely with a blue and white label.
