Microsoft Excel (not responding)

Question

I have been working on several 'excel spreadsheets' this week and now I cannot open them.  When I try to get into excell nothing happens.  I do alt-ctrl-del and it says Microsoft Excel (not responding).  Any help will be appreciated.

What have you tried to do to fix it? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Excel? Have you tried a system restore to a point before the problem occured?
