Microsoft System Config. Utility

I had a Popup Message saying an upgrade was available for download regarding the Microsoft Configuration Utility that would add Tools (within Help/Support on my Dell 4600 Desktop).  I downloaded the upgrade.  When I click on any of the menus in Tools I get a Script warning message.  Therefore, I back out of checking anything within the Tools menu.  I got the Script warning message before I did this download, too.  Please advise.  Is it o.k. to ignore the warning?

Two things. First, this is not a hardware issue and should be posted in the software forums. Second, unless you are sure where that download came from (Dell, Microsoft), you probably have a trojan or spyware and should post in the appropriate forum for those topics.

I need to apologize.  My problem is that I don't always know the difference between software and hardware issues and that must drive you folks crazy.

Not at all. I have two kids that do a fine job driving me crazy.

The problem that you are facing is due to Spyware /Trojan...Please do an on line scan to check if your computer has been infected by virus, if so please contact DELL to clean this up. You can also install a POP UP Blocker. There seems to be no problem with the Hardware.
