Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library Runtime Error.

I keep getting this notice about a Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library Runtime Error. The Window is titled 'Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library. The message in the window reads: _____________________________________________________________________________ 'Runtime Error!' Program: C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate|AUpdate.exe   'This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. please contact the application's support team for more information.' ______________________________________________________________________________   I sent this message to support@symantec.com but got this message' 'Permanent Failure: 550_5.0.0_ ...User unknown'   What do I need to do to repair this? frankm

frankm,   Do a live update of your Norton or Symantec anti virus and internet security software.  Scan your system for a virus.  There are viruses (virii?) which can infect the Norton software and cause problems with Live Update.  If you find no virus or other infection on your system, you may need to completely uninstall and reinstall your Norton or Symantec software to resolve this issue.   Steve
