Microsoft Windows Me support?

MS's new 2K OS will soon be released. I read that the error messages will be far more useful on the new version of Windows instead of the arcane language now employed. As well, the restore function will not only restore the registry but program errors we make as well. Those alone are reasons to install it. Will Dell give support for the install over WIN98 SE?

Dell's support policy has not changed in this regards. Dell will support the operating system provided on the Dell system, as well as any upgrades provided through Dell upgrade programs. This essentially means that Dell supports any OEM copy that it sells.

Retail copies of the operating system must be supported by Microsoft. Dell hardware is always supported by Dell, regardless of what operating system is installed.

Not a good idea to be the first on your block with a new OS. Will Drivers for all of your hardware be available for Windows ME? I understand it uses the new Driver Model of Windows 2000. Read the articles about Windows ME on

and look before you leap.
