Monitor doesn't wake up

New Dimension 4100 w/ME. I put the screen saver on Never-Monitor to turn off at 10 min. and Hard drive at 25 min. Seting at Home-Office. But, the monitor stays black after it hits that mode and computer won't even shut down at button-nothing wakes it up. The monitor is blinking green. I have to turn off at power surge protector. Is it maybe in another Power Save mode built into the monitor (770) other than Windows? Any input appreciated

Make sure that the hibernate and standby options are set to never. It sounds like your computer is going into one of these modes and can't recover.

They are both disabled. I'm not at the machine now and on W98 now BUT the there were three tabs being 'Power Scheme' and 'Advanced' under 'Power Management Properties' (as in W98) and there was one other tab (ME has this now) that I can't remember the name. There was an 'Enable Hibernate' type question there. Should that be checked? Sorry in being so vague.

On ME, I would recommend to disable hibernate. It usually doesn't work well on desktop systems, and may be the cause of your problem.
