More Volume!

I have Intel integrated audo, 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller with driver version 5.1.2535.0 7/1/2001. It works fine but the sound is not very loud. I have the Vol Control sliders maxed. I want more volume output on my speakers. How can I further increase the volume without installing an audio card or buying amplified speakers?

I have an Optiplex GX150. I bought some USB powered speakers but returned them because I could hear computer noise on them. I have a nice pair of Polk Audios but they aren't amplified. I'd like to stick with them. The GX150 came with Windows 2000 but now I'm using XP.

The first thing is powered (amplified) speakers.  You failed to include your PC model number, but most PC's since Windows 98 have required "powered" computer speakers.   Older systems did have sound cards with power amplifiers on them but that went out in favor of having the power amp in the speakers.   You can find anything from $9.95 powered stereo computer speakers (at places such as  Big Lots) to high $$ systems.

You will need analog powered computer speakers.  I don't know if Polk Audio is still around, some of the older computer speaker companies are gone or they have been purchased by other companies.
