If this is a logitech mouse, or a Dell mouse made by logitech, look on logitech site. Somebody recently posted a link on this forum for a fix for wandering logitech mice.
Mine is doing the same, I had a logitech wired optical that began going crazy every so often, I changed it to the Dell optical that came with the computer and now it is doing the same. Are you saying that my Dell is actually a logitech?
Some 'Dell' mice are actually made by logitech. Before you do anything else, try a different mouse pad. Somebody sent me a PM saying the gray mouse pad Dell sends with their systems causes their optical mouse to do strange things and a different pad solved the problem. Easy thing to try first...

Do you mean to go to the logitech company site?
Thanks.
