MSCONFIG

I went to  run - msconfig - Startup. I  unchecked some of the thing I didn't need so my computer would run faster. Now a box comes up that states, you are using the Selective Start Up for troubleshooting your system. If I don't want to see this box again just click this other box. I am running Windows ME.On my laptop I am running Windows XP. I did the same to it and a box stated  that I needed to use the normal start up on the general tab to start windows normally and undo all my changes. Can I do this to clean up my start up menu? Have I done something wrong? Wade

You haven't done anything wrong.  Just check the box that says "don't show this again" or something like that and it will go away.  Anything in the startup tab can be safely unchecked.  I wouldn't recommend unchecking anything with your antivirus or firewall though.

For future reference post Windows questions in the appropriate Windows forum.  The BIOS forum is for system setup questions.

Thanks, I didn't know what BIOS is. I read a few post and that sounded like the area I needed. I'm learning. Wade
