Multimedia Audio Controller Not Found

Okay, I'm going to try and provide as most information as I can throughout how I've come to this issue, and what I've done to try and solve it.

I have a Dell Dimension 9100, all the same parts as the factory put in, except i took out the 1GB of RAM, and put in 4GB of RAM.

I used to have Windows XP-Home Edition, and recently changed to Windows XP-Professional, and also reformatted my harddrive. I was unable to find the original driver discs for my computer, so i downloaded them off of the dell website. The only issue is, i have no sound. I looked in the drivers area, and there was a missing driver called: Multimedia Audio Controller. I have a SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit audio card, and it worked before i switched OS and reformatted. here is a picture of my missing driver:

pretty much everything else works fine, but this does not.

The driver from the dell website did not work, and I also looked up this problem and went into BIOS and turned off "integraded Audio controller" or somehting like that. I then tried reinstalling the driver from the dell website, but it still does not work.

here is the driver page for my computer: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_P4_9100&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

okay, im trying to install all of the drivers in the correct order, I get to the audio driver, when i try and install it, it tells me "the system does not support the driver you are trying to install" I believe this is because the sound card that I have is "Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit" and the driver on the driver downloads page is not for my audio card.

I have searched for the correct audio driver, but I don't know where to look. Could you link me to a download for the correct driver? thanks.

I preceded to reinstall the correct video, driver, it works now. But how do I load the desktop system software in normal mode and boot into safe mode and install the chipset?

Sounds like then you will need to reload the whole works. The first two in the list the DSS and the chipset are the two most important drivers to set up the communictation between the OS and your system hardware

If you reinstall your OS and did not follow the steps HERE on how to reload your drivers this can be the issue. Since you have already installed drivers then you might try loading the Desk top system software in normal mode and boot into Safe mode and install the chipset driver.

If that does not work then you will need to start all over and then install the drivers and such in the proper order.

When your in window your in normal mode. Sounds like you already did load the DSS. To boot into safe mode. Boot the computer and at the Dell splash screen tap the F8 key. Select the Safe mode option.

for my audio card, there is only one download for it, and that is a patch. I tried downloading that but it tells me it cannot install because i dont have the driver installed, and this is just an update. http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=1&subCatID=206&prodID=1853&prodName=Sound%20Blaster%20Live!%205.1%20Digital%20%28Dell%29&subCatName=Live!&CatName=Sound+Blaster&VARSET=prodfaq:PRODFAQ_1853,VARSET=CategoryID:1

You should have gotten a disk with for the Soundblaster live. IF you have misplaced or lost this disk then try HERE and select the one that applies to your card.

I really need help, I could finish this and make it work if I could find a legitimate download for a "Sound Blaster Live!24-bit 5.1 digital (Dell) (model:SB0413)" driver. Apparently on the sound blaster website they claim that it is "End Of Service Life", and only have an update, while I have no driver. There must be a download somewhere for the driver, but i cannot find any such source through google.
