Muting Question

Quick question. I'm currently using Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with a Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS sound card. I would like to watch television on mute while being able to listen to music in a program such as WinAmp. However, when I try to mute the tv in MCE2005, it mutes everything. Is there any way to just mute the tv so that I can still listen to music? Hopefully that made sense. Pretty much, I'm asking if there is a way to just solely mute the tv and nothing else. Thanks.

I don't think you can do that.  If you are using the TV then it has "control" of the sound and wouldn't be able to use another media player.  Only one "media player" (in this case the TV) can have use of the sound playback.

Try just turning down the volume in the TV player, while leaving it up in the music player. Don't try to mute the main volume control.

I don't have MCE, but I sometimes have a video playing in Windows Media Player, and listen to tunes in iTunes at the same time.
