My Computer

I just tried reading a floppy disc on which I've recorded grades from a Gradebook program, and my new Dell computer wouldn't read it. I tried opening it with another program, Word Perfect, and now my Dell computer tries to read all the floppy discs with Word Perfect.  Is there a way to get it back to what it's supposed to be? And does anyone know why it didn't read it in the first place? (I've used my gradebook program with a number of computers of different brands and had no trouble)

hello!!!

the reason why your new Dell computer was not able to read the contents of the floppy is because the Gradebook program that you used to save those files is not installed in the Dell computer. therefore, Windows was unable to associate those files with any of the programs installed in the computer...  you can try system restore to restore your computer to an earlier time...

hope this helps!

Thanks, Velvet!  So I should install my gradebook program into my Dell computer so it'll have a frame of reference for the floppy disc?
