Need help, computer problem!!!

Here is what my problem is: I stop using the computer for a little while and the computer screen freezes and nothing responds until I reset my computer. Now after not using it for about 5 minutes my screen saver comes on but some time after that my screen goes black (the button on my monitor that turns it on/off will then turn orange instead of the green, like when the monitor's on my not the computer). I've tried hitting buttons, control+alt+delete, esc key and nothing happens until I reset it.

Now I've never had this problem before but I recently swithced my video card from a X300 to a 6800GT and I'm wondering if this is the casue of it. Can someone help me?

Have you checked your power settings from Control Panel?   The orange flashing light on the monitor indicates a power saving, or sleep mode.  Also, you may wish to try a  System Restore point to an earlier time when all was working well.

Thats what I thought so I went into the power options a switched the option to "never" on the turn off monitor option. It still didn't help. I just noticed however that I had a check next to the hibernate button so I totally removed that and will see what happens.

I thought when a computer went into hibernate mode that you could get it out by just hitting a button (which didn't work for me)? What usually happens when a computer goes into hybernate mode and how do you get out of it?

Ok I tried taking the hibernation off the computer but I still have the same problem. The computer still freezes up with no monitor action (power button stays orange and won't come on). I need help badly. If I even leave the computer for a little bit it happens and I have to restart the computer just to get it back.

Is it something with my new video card? The 6800GT? It has only happened since I installed it and that can't be coincidence.

PLEASE someone help me!!!

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!

I just had my computer do it again after taking off the hibernation option. I was able to get 1 thing to show up on the monitor though. With a black background a message said "computer is in power save mode, hit any button on the keyboard or mouse to continue" or something along those lines. The only problem is, nothing gets my computer back on unless I restart it. I've hit every key on my keyboard and tried the mouse and NOTHING works.

Can somone please tell me what to do? At the very least, tell me where to find the power save mode so I can shut it off. As it is now my computer goes into "power save mode" after about 15-20 minutes of idle time.

Please someone tell me what to do.
