need help installing keyboard

:smileysad:in reference to the last messages soggy keyboard, I purchased a wired keyboard by micro innovations.  All went well until I removed the plug from the receiver that goes into the keyboard plug on the back of the computer.  I plugged in the new keyboard into thePS/2 and turned the computer on and now my mouse will not work.  I tried recalibrating the mouse with the receiver but that did not work.  So I need help in how to install a wired keyboard and keep the original cordless mouse.
