New Machine doesn't start

I just opened my brand new Dell Dimesion L667R and it refuses to boot.

The LED on the motherboard is lit, but nothing else (including the CPU fan) is working.

Need Help!

Vinitmodoi...

On this one, I suggest you contact Dell Support rather than, the user's forum. If this is not something they can troubleshoot, a return may be in order.

You should NOT have to do this on a new system but here is a quick fix check. Take the cover off and make sure the fan connector is attached to a power supply connector (motherboard usually). If yes Then check the EIDE or IDE cable coming from the hard drive (front of the PC) is properly connected to the primary EIDE connector on the motherboard (middle of the PC in front of the CPU (see documentation). This should be connected to the Primary IDE connector 1 on the motherboard. Check this setting in the BIOS also, under IDE settings and see if the hard drive is even being recognized. Also perform a visual check on the cable and make sure it was not damaged when the cover was put on at the factory. Check the power cable coming into the hard drive. If you need your system up and running ASAP, try replacing the EIDE cable or IDE cable depending on whether you have a ATA66 or ATA33 hard drive, the cable is cheap, but again the system should have never left the factory like this!!! Good Luck!! I am concerned the fan is not working also possible faulty power supply also???

Perhaps I am out of turn here, but I believe that a call to Dell is in order for a return or on-site repair.
