No boot device

Question

I just installed a new hard drive from dell for my inspiron 1545 and I can not complete the os installation. When I turn the laptop on it is a black screen with a message saying no boot drive on internal hard drive. Please help!!! I must have this working for school and my time is running out! ....p.s. I have already tried changing the boot sequence.

You have posted in the desktop forum. You must put the windows disk in the cd/dvd drive and reboot. Tap F12 as soon as you reboot to get to the boot menu. Then select to boot from the dvd drive.
