Start by visiting the link below:

Since your PC is new, it is probably loaded up with various TSR's running at startup and, maybe a few more you have added. Trim the list down to the bare minimums and this will probably solve your problem. Chances are this is NOT a memory problem but rather, a system resources problem.

The information found at Denny's site will get you off on the right foot. Post back if you have some more questions about the "fine-tuning".

Thanks for helping! I printed the list off of Denny's page and I am ready to remove some. What do I do next. What is the easiest and best wayt to stop them from starting? When I do this can I use those products? I am new at this and do not want to goof things up. Thanks again for your help.

Pharm rep, This is the easy part. Click Start, select run and click it. Now type MSCONFIG in the window and click OK. Select startup from the folder tabs that open. Simply uncheck unessential programs. They will still work but will not run in the background. Candidates are MSFIND, REMINDER, REAL PLAYER, QUICKEN, etc. If you are unsure of something, leave it. Do not remove anything that starts with HP. This may damage the printer driver. Leave things like SYSTTRAY. Do not uncheck your antivirus programs. If things don't work right, just put the checks back.
