No sound!
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
I had to unplug the speaker connectors on the back of my Dell 3000 (to add RAM) and I seem to have bollixed things up in reconnecting them. I no longer get any sound, even though all visual indications (on CP\Audio Devices) show I am not in Mute and things “look” fine.
My two speakers are connected as follows:
The left speaker (without the pilot light): its permantly connected wire has a pink connector on its far end and that connector is plugged into the upper of the two receptors on the right speaker.
The right speaker (with the pilot light): the lower of the two connectors is tied to the power converter (and the converter is plugged in). The permanently connected wire has a gray connector on its remote end and that connector is plugged into the grey hole (the rightmost of the three slots (pink, green, grey) on the back of the system unit. The pilot light on the right speaker is ON.
But I get no sound! Are my connections correct? What SHOULD the pink, green, and gray sockets be used for? Thanks.

The GREEN jack is the Speaker connection. Probably, your problem.
