NTLDR is missing

It says NTLDR is missing. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. I do and it does not restart. What can I do?

Ruby,
Do you have an emergency repair disk? You should be able to boot with that and copy the NTLDR from there (floppy) to your C:\drive.

Ruby,

This article tells you how to create a boot disk if you don't have one.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q305595

This tells how to use recovery console to start computer.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q314058 Description of the Windows Recovery Console

Hope this helps, good luck,

Hi

Have a look at the Microsoft Knowledge base articles

Q100315 & Q101862

This link should take you to a search on that error on the Microsoft Knowledge Base site, The two articles are at the top of the seach

http://search.support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?Catalog=LCID%3D2057%26CDID%3DEN-US-KB%26PRODLISTSRC%3DON&Product=msall&Query=NTLDR%2520missing&Queryc=NTLDR+missing&REF=false&srchstep=0&KeywordType=ALL&Titles=false&numDays=&maxResults=25

You may need to cut and paste this link into your Browser

I also found this using Google, http://www.google.com

ruby981,
You mean you reinstalled XP? You booted from your CD/ROM? If yes then you may have to go into Set up and change your boot order so your floppy boots first. Will any floppies work? Can you see Your A drive in My Computer? Remember you have 30 days from the date on your invoice to return your computer. If you can not resolve your problems I would consider this option.

I made a boot disk with six floppy disks. When I went to put in the floppy it seems my floppy drive does not work. I have had the computer for about a week. I finally had to reinstall. Now I have to see about my A drive. The light does not come on and the eject button does not work.
