nvidia 6800

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I had recently gotten a new dimesion 4700 with Pentium 4 processor at 2.8 GHz and 256mb of ram, it also has a nvidia 6800 video card. My problem is with a game I've been playing online, World of Warcraft, It seems that every time i play it i seem to have lag issue and everyone i talk to about says i shouldn't experience any problems given the system i have.  I was wondering if there's any certain way i have to adjust the settings to the card to get things running more smoothly, or if anyone is having the same issues I'm having and knows how to correct it. Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Playing online games and having lag has to do with the game server you are connecting to.

Does the game lag in single player mode?

WoW has no single player mode.  That said the paltry 256 mb of ram you have is the problem, its bottlenecking your system big time.

Hmmm,

I though it did...Oh well

Yeah you need more than 256mb of ram for sure.

Min 512mb with 1024mb recommended.

Also for online play, your internet connection has a lot to do with performance.

You might also consider trying the nVidia drivers from Omega. He independently tweaks nVidia and ATI drivers for gamers. They're free at www.omegadrivers.net/
His driver somehow also solves problems with CPU spikes and bad audio that some nVidia 6800 and 6800GTO users experience on Dell systems.

Grab his free Driver Cleaner 3.3 too and follow the instructions to remove the old driver before installing any new one.

It's definitely the lack of RAM.  To my knowledge, WoW is a very dependent upon the amount of RAM in your system.  You'll want 512MB at the very least.
