What you want to do is roll back the driver and see if that helps go to the control panel click on system go to the hardware tab click on device manager Click on the + sign next to display adaptors right click on the video card click on properties click on the driver tab click on rollback driver but you have to have a driver backed up for this

Thanks.  Actually, I was just going to try doing that..but I have a question first (and forgive my ignorance).  When you say I have to have a driver backed up for this, what do you mean exactly?  Let me clarify that I am not totally ignorant about computers, but neither am I a genius!  I am pretty much self taught by trial and error.........so..educate me.............

Having a backup of the driver means that you have to have the old driver and in a place where the computer can find it. but if you havn't tried it you should i think that your computer saves the old one for a little while. i think that you should try it, if you did and it didn't work tell me.

Unless you uninstalled and deleted the old driver it will be there.

Thanks for the responses.  I did the roll back thing (before I got your last email)--I figured that the worst that could happen would that I would have to reinstall the driver from...........the roll back still did not correct the problem.  The games work fine, and are playable,  it is just the lettering that is all messed up.  I tried adjusting the screen resolution, and that did not help.............so what now?

sorry......................no, it did not correct the problem with the letters in the graphics.  The games play fine, it is just the letters are all messed up.  I tried adjusting the resolution, but that did not help either, so if you have any suggestions, let me know.  thank you so much for your advice....

Try a different monitor to see if your monitor is bad. If not, you may have smoked the video board.

I just found out that my sound does not work now....yes, I checked to see if it was plugged in.  do I just need to reload the driver for NVIDIA?  Would that help?  I am really starting to get irritated now with this whole thing. .....Unfortunately, I know just enough to get me in trouble, so I do not want to really mess up my computer...............especially since I have only had it a month!
