I do have XP SP2, I said that an update on windows was hanging probably because of the virus.  Does anyone know how to kill the Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger?  My updated Norton's version does not detect it, please help?

Did you try:

1. Restarting the computer?

2. Opening task manager, and killing drwatson32 from there??

Here is some info I found by using Google.

I didn't find drwatson32.exe in the task manager, but did go onto the site you sent me & post the message there also, seems alot of people through the years has had this virus, old, can't believe no one has found a quick fix for it by now.  It was invented with windows 3.1, but loves to hide very well in windows XP & actually harms it worse.  Weird virus, cannot be put on a disk or floppy, only by large email.  Wish some1 could kill it quickly for me??  Thanks

It might not be a virus. You can try disabling Dr.Watson by the link below:

Make sure, however, you try the online scans. You also may want to post this is the spyware/virus area of Dell forum.
