Open With folder

How do I eliminate items inadvertently added to the "Open With" folder that opens when you need to choose a program to open a file? Thanks in advance.

LMAO thats the computer i used to have b4 i got my grubby lil hands on it :)

anyway -

are you talking about when you left click a file and you get the popup window -

"Please choose what program you would like to open this file with:"
then you have a list of programs like "notepad, image preview, windows paint, internet explorer, hypersnap, " and the such? or when you right click a file and get the options :

open
open with...(a whole buncha programs usually in this sub menu)
winzip.... (winzip options in this menu)
send to compressed folder:
cut
copy
properties
-----------------------------------------------

if its the 2nd way you want to remove the open with - the only way i know how is to uninstall the programs right clicking offers - im sure there are other ways but im not aware of them - sorry if this doesnt help

"windows media player" and then put a checkmark next to "Allways open this type of file with this program" then click either "apply" or "OK" depending on what your options are.

That is the program I am talking about, but I don't want to remove the entire "Open With" folder. Just want to remove some of the choices listed that you use to open certain programs with. I added some stupid ones by mistake. Not even sure how I added them. They are things I would never use to open any programs with.
