Optiplex 790 PCI Serial Port Drivers Missing

I recently upgraded a DELL Optiplex 790 to windows 10 and promptly lost the PCI Serial Port drivers. Now my PCIe slots are no longer functional.

I understand that this computer is no longer supported by dell, however, I am hoping that someone did the upgrade successfully and can help direct me as to what I can do to fix the issue.

thanks

Windows 10 does not install ANY driver that isnt 64 bit and WHQL Certified.

You need Microsoft WHQL certified drivers for windows 10 for your PCI serial card.

The PCI-E serial card is not from dell and not supported here.

You have to disable the driver signature enforcement in Windows 10

which makes your system vulnerable to malware.

Press the Win + C and click on PC settings.

Switch over to the “Update & recovery” section.

Then click on the Recovery option on the left hand side.

Once selected, you will see an advanced startup section appear on the right hand side. You will need to click on the “Restart now” button.

Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option.

Then head into Advanced options.

Then Startup Settings.

Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart your computer one last time.

Here you will be given a list of startup settings that you can change. The one we are looking for is “Disable driver signature enforcement”. To choose the setting, you will need to press the F7 key.
