Outlook Express problems

This is my 2nd day with my new Dell Dimension 1100, and I'm really enjoying it - with only one glitch so far.

Outlook Express resets the POP address each time I turn off the computer. I have to go back into Tools and reset it to the address given to me by the ISP.

How can I save the settings?

When you setup the data in the "Account" are you clicking "apply" after you enter the data?  That should save the data so your "Account" will always have the correct data for your e-mail account.  Also how you shut down the e-mail program and shutdown Windows could have an affect on any "changed" data.  Make sure you do an "orderly" shutdown - close the e-mail program and then exit Windows using the the "Start/Turn off computer" options.  If you just power it off you can (will) lose any customized settings that you make.

I notice you have cross-posted this in several forum sections.  This "hardware" section is not the section to post user/software issues.

Yes, I shut down as recommended, and 'apply' when I change thinggs. This will  happen occasionally when I turn off Outlook itself.

I didn't crosspost this, I only posted the once - and chose this forum because of this previous post: http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_other&message.id=24920&query.id=425520#M24920.

Well, I've seen a post with the indentical question on another forum.

Consider, this is a General "Hardware" forum section.  Your question concerns software configuration, which is NOT a hardware issue.  Because someone else inadvertantly posted a queston doesn't mean it's where all software questions should be posted.  Outlook Express is part of the Operating System.  Many of the Forum Moderators will move questions such as yours to the correct forum section. It can be confusing trying to figure out which forum section to post some questions in but most get it right.
