PC Communications device Win 7

Hi

I am having a problem with the PCI communication device in my new Vostro 430. I installed win 7 home fine, but the pci communication device has a yellow exclamation mark next to it. I have tried installing the driver from the support CD, and downloading from the dell website. Still won't work. I have used Windows update, and that can't find it either. Why would a brand new computer not have the PCI driver installed? Can someone help?

Thanks.

Hi

So it's a modem? Thanks.

The problem is that It won't install. No matter what I try the yellow sign is still in the device manager. Is it some sort of glitch with seven? I think there is another similar post below, so it seems to be something that is more than on just mine. :( :emotion-12:

I think there are others that are experiencing this problem, so a fix or help wouldn't just be helping me but others too. Pls, can someone from dell respond?

* Install this and restart the PC
* For Windows 7 32bit, install this and restart the PC
* For Windows 7 64bit, install this and restart the PC

Hi Chris M. Thanks for your response. I followed your advice and installed the drivers. I got to the second step, and got the error that no such device exists. I went through the whole process again and the same thing happened. If there is no pci modem, then what is the device? I thought that windows 7 was supposed to auto install all needed drivers? This is really frustrating. :(

Send me the service tag number in a private message so I can see what is installed.
