Right click on the little speaker down near your time. Select Open Volume control.

The actual physical off button will depend on what speakers you have. Chekc here for info of your speakers (if they're from Dell).

Thanks Olefin but I was looking for the pc speaker, not the sounds etc. speakers. The one inside that makes the little noises like phone line garble and beeps etc. I know there is a way to turn it off but I can't find it. My old system had access to it in the bios. If that's where it's at in the dimension, I didn't see it. Thanks,John

I found it in the optiplex bios under integrated devices (scroll way down) then in that interface you have to scroll way down to get to pc speaker. Mine says it is on, but it's not working. If you have any ideas to get it working I'd appreciate it!

Hi wyse, you should find a control for it in modem properties in control panel. I know you can turn it on or off from there. Hope this helps, Johnny.

Thanks, but I don't use a modem so I can't change the pc speaker properties from the modem properties interface.

Hi wyse, If you don't use a modem, then whatever device you use to connect to the internet should have a properties profile where you can find a speaker control. If you still can't find it there , then probably in the bios where you were before, turn it on there and restart your PC. You won't get a notice in bios telling you to do this but do it anyway. A lot of changes you make won't take effect untill you do. If that don't fix it, pull the cover off and make sure it's physically connected. I've had this happen before. Not real common but it can happen. Hope this helps, Johnny
