What is your system ?  What PCI hardware are you talking about ?  IE :  Video, Modem, etc.  What operating system are you running ?  Do you have any service patch or updates installed ?

Look at the back of your system and tell us what color are your diagnostic code lights are... All green or what ?  Did you hear any beeps when you turned the system on.  This  Link below will show you the color codes on the back of your system and what they mean.  Also, go to START, right click on My Computer, Click on Properties, Click on Hardware on top, Click on Device Manager, than scroll down and see if you can locate any problem area's where you see a yellow   (  ! anywhere .  You may have to do a systems diagnostic's.  Also, open the case up, after you shut  off and disconnect the power cable from the wall and push in on the power button for a few seconds,  and see if the cards in the pci slots have not come loose.  Have you done anything to the system lately ?

Other's who have more knowledge than I will try to assist later....Good luck
