PEG slots

What is a PEG slot?

I ran a system scan and it says its a PCI express 32x slot. Its in use. Whats using it? Can I use this for a graphics card?

I think the answer is going to be no, but thought i'd ask.

Never heard of a 32x pci-express slot.  16x or 1x  8x yes, but not 32x

You have a Dim 3100 computer.  You can only install a PCI slot video card or a 1X PCI-Express video card.  All of which are low end, but better than the integrated video chip you are now experiencing with.  Get a PCI slot card ( Not a 16x PCI-Express nor AGP card ) for your system or perhaps a 1X PCI-Express card.

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim3100/en/sm/techov0.htm#wp1052309  This is part of your systems manual.  Click on the link, scroll down to the motherboard layout, and look at the lower right side for number #12 and #13.  This is where you install either a PCI slot card or a 1X pci-express card only.

There is a provision for a 32X PCI Express slot in the PCI Express standard, but it's not common (yet).

I suspect the poster means a 32-bit PCI slot, which is a completely different thing.
