JABROMITIS,

Resources and RAM are not related. See the third link under my signature for some assistance with the problem.

I went to the website you indicated and wasn't sure which program your recommending? It would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know. Thanks.

Go to Start> Run> Type ''msconfig'' (Without the Quotes) in the open: box> Ok> Click the Startup Tab. Use Dennys site to guide you on what you can and cannot uncheck to free up resources.

I went through the msconfig issue with dell support. That was not a perminate fix. When you uncheck items in the startup tab the first tab startup box becomes shaded because you are not loading all the programs. You then reboot and get a message that you haven't loaded all the programs and this is for diagnostics mode. If you check the box not to see the message again it still comes up when you reboot. There must be some alternative fix. Thanks

The screen should not appear again if you check the do not show this message box. It should only appear if you open msconfig again and then only if anything is unchecked in the startup window. There are some programs that will not go along with you trying to turn them off in msconfig. You may have better luck with the program at the link below. I have had good luck with it.

JABROMITIS,
The unfortunate fact is you're running the version of Windows that does the poorest job of managing resources. The links in this post will help make things a lot clearer for you. I'd recommend starting with the Resources vs Memory FAQ.
