Where did you install the two folders with the drivers? Perhaps try manually deleting those folders with the files, then try deleting one with the add/remove feature. If it doesn't come back, remove the other and redownload (or install from the CD) the drivers. I can't guarantee sucess, but perhaps it's worth a try (I've done this with success, but never with drivers). Perhaps someone more experienced with video drivers would know a better alternative.
I might be incorrect here, but I thought that you COULD remove ALL of the nvidia drivers in "Add/Remove Programs" if you wanted too?? Try it. I believe that your computer would still display video without them, just very basic... then, for a clean start, download and run Driver Cleaner:
Thanks for the link! It worked like a charm. I had some loose files still kicking around I guess, and they were preventing me from making a clean install.

When you run it, you have to select "nVidia" drivers, etc. THEN re-try downloading and installing the nvidia driver again.

After you are thru patting yourself on the back there are several hundred more.
I just tell them something just for fun to see if they will do it.
