Possible ethernet connection problem
I'm not able to connect to the internet.
My service provider does show my modem and router connected but cannot see my computer.
The ehternet light is blinking next to the connection on my PC
I'm running XP pro so I went to the internet connection and ran it's fix. There are no problem to fix.
I looked at the status and it states that the computer sent a package but no response was received.
I'm not sure if I can add a stand alone ethernet card.
Any ideas?

I'm using a wired LinkSys router on my home network. I had to load the Linksys configuration CD on my PC and the router both before I could communicate (have internet access).
I've also installed a couple of wireless routers for other people (not Linksys) but they too needed the router's configuration CD loaded on the router and all PC's to enable access.

At times my cable modems loses it connectivity.
All lights on the modem show Ok
All lights on Linksys wireless router are Ok
But I still have no connection to the Internet.
I do the following to regain my connection.
Shut down my PC normally.
Unplug power cable from the modem.
Unplug power cable to the router.
Wait a few minutes.
Plug in power cable to the modem
Wait for all lights to show correctly (this could take awhile so be patient)
When all lights are Ok on the modem replug in the router power cable.
Restart your PC and see if you now have a good connection.
Matter of fact, I just had to do that about ten minutes ago on my own system..
