When i plug in the power cable nothing fire. Nothing works apart from the green light on the motherboard which turns on.

did you check the power button ??

If your pc is in warrentee ring Dell, if not, remove all un-nessesary thing, sound card, extra cd roms, etc, just undo the cables..

Basicly strip the ,, if you have to strip down to mobo, with graphics card and memory only,,

try reseting the bios jumper..

did you do anything before the error started ?

Exactly which XPS model do you have? 410, 700, 710, 710 H2C etc? Knowing this may allow someone to help you more efficiently with your issue.

It just happened the other day, no solution yet.  I don't know anything about computers, that's why I bought a new one and paid the cost.  I have called a repair shop and they said it will probably be the power supply.

the computer is XPS 410 and it doesn't start but the green light on the motherboard turn on when the power cable is plugged in.
