Power?

Hi,
Does anyone know what ballpark power of a GX520 tower and a GX620 mini tower with only a mouse, keyboard and monitor attached? The processor will be running at near 100%?
Thanks

Figure average 250 watts for the system and 85 watts for the monitor if its lcd and 150 if its a Big CRT.

Thanks for that.

On the bottom of the GX520 it states 230Va/c 3A, that would be 690W for the power supply?

The 230W is 1Amp?

Do you know why the difference?

Thanks

Basic math 101

watts = volts X amps

At 120 volts it has a 3 amp inrush current and uses 2 amps continuous.

At 240 volts it has a 1 amp inrush current and uses .9 amps continoous.

Or something similar to that. There is no way to design for all spec. In Japan the voltage can go as low as 100v so the power supply fuse needs to be able to handle the inrush load without blowing.

Hi Speedstep,

Thanks for all your replies.

What would you recommend if you are trying to work out the loading for a UPS OR the max current loading in a room.  It looks like for normal usage of a 520 and 620 with no bells and whisles a max current of 1.5A should be ok?

What do you think??
thanks

Typical user is going to Need a 450VA unit or better.
I tend to use 1400VA units because the users also sometimes need a 60 watt lamp and radio and icecream maker and jacuzzi for their feet in order to operate the computer.
