Precision M70 WIFI BLUETOOTH problems

Hello all!

I am having problems with my wi-fi connection and my bluetooth.   When I use  a bluetooth headset my wifi drops from 54mbps to 1mbps.   Anyone having similar problems?

Also, my bluetooth microphone is not working with my m70.   It works fine with my cell phone.

And last, I do not have the icon bluetooth devices in my device manager.

Anyone experiencing any of these?

Thanks.

I haven't really tried my bluetooth that much, but I am having those same issues with my intel a/b/g wireless card. In fact I have issues when I come back from gaming while on the docking station, using the cable ethernet, and close the program it'll loose connection and not be able to find it again.

Otherwise, I have the slow downs from 54, to 36 or 24ish, and then drop to 1 and loose connection. I'm wondering if it is getting too hot?

I am sorry but I will just sympathize with you instead of finding a solution :-)
I am having other problems that seems to be related: when I turn my bluetooth on, my wifi connection just drops dead every once in a while (every hour or so). I have to select "Repair" on my wireless connection icon to get it to work again.
Shutting the bluetooth manager down solves this problem.

Any idea on how to solve it is welcome.

I use both at once on my M70 and v710 Cell phone. First thing you need to realize is both interfaces use the same frequency range (2.4Ghz). Intel has tried their best to keep them from conflicting. I have noticed my wireless slows down will I'm doing things remotely with my cell phone. For those who thought you can use a bluetooth mouse when using their wireless ethernet you can...but for the two to exist together the wireless MUST slow down to allow for bluetooth communication (even thought they do not share the same "channel" there still appears to be some form of overlap or noise).

As for dropping I have not had that but I have never had heavy bluetooth traffic (like sending a file via a PAN profile) while using wireless. Also I have not noticed any variation in signal strength (WiFi) while bluetooth is active. I am using the latest drivers for the 2200BG card at the time of this writing (Intel Proset 9...NOT win XP client).

For those that expressed concerns over bluetooth device fucntionality you need to specify which profile the device uses. If the devices uses a headset profile I believe all you have to do is pair it then in the sound propertise of the Windows control panel select that sound device as your prefered recording interface. It may very well be that pairing is great but windows is using the built-in sound chip becasue you have not specified otherwise.

If you are NOT using the headset profile you may be trying to use the audio gateway or advanced audio profiles. I do not know if these were provided with the toshiba stack. Only trying it and seeing would tell.
