This is not that big of a deal, but I would like to know why my windows log-in screen has reverted into the old version of it. Also, when i shutdown my computer it has the old version. I'm sorry for not making this that clear. Instead of my login name and picture, it shows a box with my login name and a password space where there is none. This isn't a big deal but I think I like the version that came with the desktop first. This probably isnt the right forum either.

Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts then click on "Change the way users log on or off".  On the next screen, check the box to Use the Welcome Screen.

On the User Accounts Screen, look under

Pick a task....

Change an account

Creat a new account

Change the way users log on or off

Do those four lines show up on that screen?

You must not be logged on as an Administrator.  Log on to an account with Administrator privileges the see what is shown in User Accounts.

it says:

Change an account
Create an account
Change my picture

when i press Ctrl+alt+Del a window appears where it says log off, lock computer, shutdown, change password, and task manager. However, before it would directly go to the task manager.

To add onto my first statement, when I first used my computer, the background would be a vibrant blue with the windows XP style. It would also state my name and user icon. Now, however, the background is a dullish blue with a box in the middle asking for name and pw. I just would like to change it back to normal.
