With brand new warranted models with
far superior specs (that will run rings around the old model) available in the $400's, I certainly wouldn't pay anywhere near $300. IMHO, $150 tops. If you can get $300, more power to you.
About $250/300, I sold an 8400, P-4 3.4Ghz, with the remaining five months warranty, in July, for $475.

I agree with europa303, I wouldn't pay $300 for a used 3.5 year old PC, but then some people aren't that knowledgeable so your relative may very well pay $300.
