Printer Server printer problems

My printer server and printer are not reading each other.  My case number is 063747226.  I continually get transferred around at Dell CS for problems I have and it is frustrating.  I have spoke to Linksys costumer service and after 45 minutes of checking out my machine/printer/printer server, I still can not print.  I can print from my computer directly to the printer with the USB cable, but not through the printer server.  The guy at Linksys think the A940 printer and print server are not compatiable or reading each other  Or maybe the printer server is defective?  I thought I order a wireless ready print server with the card and antenna.  Could this print server be defective?  How do I return the printer and or printer to Dell or just get this problem fixed with out an act of GOD or at least getting transfered around 2 or 3 times and waiting ont he phone for 30-45 minutes??  Help someone.

Signed,

Frustrated with Dell....

I have an HP printer and a Dlink router/wireless/print server.  Some printers may not be compatible with a print server.  Try: control panel/printers and other hardware/view installed printers and be sure the checkmark is on the desired printer (940?).  Right-click the printer icon, properties from menu/ports tab.  See if the checked box is the local port called Linksys.  Highlight the local port  configure port and see if it is the right IP address 192.168.0.1.  Good luck, please post what your settings are.  It has been a year since I set up my network, but I can try to help.

I went to Linksys: http://www.linksys.com/support/support.asp?spid=76, indicates you will only print, not scan with a multifunction, even if it works.  You would need to directly connect to scan or fax..

Thanks for the recommendations.  The checked box says the printer is offline with the print server. ????  I can print when I hook the USB cable directly to the computer and printer.  I may just have to slugg it out with a Dell CS rep on Monday when I have 75 minutes to burn.

Sincerely,

Brand new Dell customer and Frustrated with Dell.........

Make sure it is set, when you right click the printer icon, as the default printer, and "use printer online", worth a try..I was able to put my default printer on and offline.
