Problems reinstalling windows xp
Hi
I own a Dell 4700. My c drive has recently failed me. I replaced the c drive with my 2nd drive (D) as I did not have a spare HD lying around and I am short on cash to buy a new one. I physically placed the (D) drive where the C drive was.
I reformatted and tried installing windows on (D)with the Dell windows XP disc I created awhile back.I have done this many times in the past to clean up my PC and had no problems.
Now when I try to go thru the setup -when it starts to install windows and says there @34 minutes remaining inn setup-I all of a sudden get a pop-up saying-
"the software you are installing for this hardware
INTEL 82915G/GV/910 GL express chipset family
has not passed the windows logo test
would you like to continue to install
??????????????I have no clue what this means.
If I press yes- the system then shuts down and starts the install process all over again.
If I say no- I get more pop-ups about other hardware for software( host controllers)etc and it won't let me continue
this has NEVER happened to me before
Please help!
thanks in advance

That pretty much addresses my issue exactly. The directions given by Microsoft are a bit unclear to me though-I will have to give it a try.
You obviously know your stuff
