Hi,
You should try closing down your running programs by right clicking the icon in the system tray and exiting that way. Some applications don't like to be "forced" to close except by using their own system of doing it. This is especially true of AntiVirus and Firewall programs. Do these first before using the Close Program screen.

FYI here are details of your TSRs:

POPROXY.EXE Norton E-mail Protection POP Proxy.

NAVAPW32.EXE /LOADQUIET Norton Anti-virus Auto-protection.

MSMSGS.EXE /BACKGROUND Microsoft Network Messenger Service

MSWheel Microsoft Wheel mouse

Stimon StillImageMonitor--part of scanner software

aoltray aol icon manager

I recommend the following to my clients for doing their System Maintance.

Steve

Thanks for the info Steve,

Never really knew what all those TSR's were.

As far as the screen saver. I had a lot of problems with this some time ago. I was using Standby (which causes problems) but since I changed to using a blank screen for my screen saver I haven't had any problems.

I never turned my screen saver of for the defrag or scandisk. I'll try that and see what happens.

Thanks again for the info

Ron
