RAM Memory Module Upgrade
I have a DELL Dimension 8200 with MS-XP service pack 2. I installed two DELL RIMM 256 ECC 8C 40 modules in the "dummy-CRIMM" slots. The increased memory is recognized by setup but the system fails to boot up. I replaced CRIMM cards and all is well. I reinstalled memory modules and the problem persists. I have not tried replacing the two 128 cards with the two 256 cards. Should I? DELL Tech support is telling me to return cards but I fear they will send me the same card type card and I will still have the same problem. Time is running out on a project which requires the additional RAM memory. Help anyone. I mistakenly posted this earlier in the non-technical forum.

It reads that the RDRAM modules you purchased are not compatible to your system and need to be returned.
